What a pity. In a so-far clean event this was a spiteful match played by two teams obviously frustrated by their standard of rugby.

Scotland won by 2 points. I predicted Scotland by 5.

This is yet another must-win match for both teams. For Italy a win would mean playing in the quarter-finals for the first time at a rugby world cup. Italy has played poorly whilst Scotland has not set its pool alight. Italy lost by 50 or so points to New Zealand, Scotland lost by 40 to the Kiwis.
