Ireland won its first Rugby World Cup 2003 warm up game against a young and experimental Welsh side. Wales suffered its 9th loss
 in a row. Keith Wood, after a year, and Brian O'Driscoll, since April, returned to the Irish side.

Robinson & Oakley were making their test debuts for Wales. Harris received a yellow card towards the end of the first half.
