MATCH NOTES

This historic win by Fiji placed them into the World Cup semi-finals for the first time since the inagural World Cup in 1987. This was the third time Wales had been eliminated from the semi-final stage by a Pacific Island team. Samoa achieved this in 1991 and 1999.

Dewes' late try, his first for Fiji, pushed Wales out of a finals place. Gareth Thomas was playing his 100th test for Wales, the first Welshman to do so. Qera was yellow-carded just on half time.
