MATCH NOTES
The score and losing margin made this result the biggest loss ever by Samoa. It was New Zealand's fifth century score in international rugby.
The win easily surpassed New Zealand's previously highest score of 71-13 against Samoa in Albany in 1991.

So'oialo played his 50th test for New Zealand. Muliaina passed 100 points for New Zealand in tests and has now scored 21 tries. Thompson's try was his first for New Zealand.

No fewer than eleven Samoan players who took the field against Japan were unavailable for this test due to club committments in New Zealand and Europe. Ropati had last played for Samoa v South Africa November 2003, a Rugby World Cup pool match. Tupou, Lavasa, Paulino, Mikaele, Tolufale and Aoulua were all making their test debuts for Samoa. Faosilivia's try was his first for Samoa.
