MATCH NOTES
This was the first time that the Bledisloe Cup was contested outside of Australasia. Both New Zealand and Australia were on their way to Europe. New Zealand thus retained the Bledisloe cup 3-1.

Gear and Jane were making their test debuts for New Zealand. Pocock was making his test debut for Australia. Chisholm last played a test for Australia v Canada 2007 Rugby World Cup.
