Ryan Jones was injured after selection, and was replaced by Dafydd Jones with Martyn Williams taking over the captaincy. Bradley Davies was making his test debut for Wales.
Cross was making his test debut for Scotland. Max Evans' try was his first for Scotland. Paterson passed 700 points for Scotland, being Scotland's leading point scorer.
