| MATCH NOTES A large number of first choise Irish players were either with the British and Irish Lions tour of South Africa or were unavailable. Cave, Whitten, Dowling, Keatley, Ronan, Muldoon, Ross and Caldwell were all making their test debuts for Ireland. Duffy and O’Driscoll last played for Ireland in 2007-08 , Murphy in 2006-07, whilst Casey last played for Ireland 9 years ago in 2000. Murphy, Whitten and Buckley all scored their first tries for Ireland, whilst Keatley his first points. Mack, O'Toole and Tiedemann were making their test debuts for Canada.
