MATCH NOTES Test Debuts: Japan-Senba, Tamura, Fujii, Ito, Arita, Nagae, Tsuboi, Mochizuki, Uchida and Tatekawa. Goromaru and Nagatomo last played a test for Japan in 2010; Goromaru v Samoa in June 2010, Nagatomo v Kazakhstan in May 2010. Makabe played his only test to date, v Canada November 2009. Shinozuka last played a test for Japan v NZ Maori, June 2008. Kosei Ono and Sasaki both last played a test for Japan v Australia at the 2007 Rugby World Cup in France. New captain Hirose played his only test to date for Japan v Hong Kong, April 2007. Tamura, K.Ono, Senba, Fujii, Sasaki and Nagatomo all scored their first tries for Japan. At 38 years of age, Chernikh was one of the oldest test rugby players at this time.
