Test debuts: Lions-None. Australia-Mogg. Faletau, Gray and Tuilagi were making their Lions test debuts.
George Smith was recalled to the Australian side after last playing a test in 2009 v Wales. It was his 111th and last test for Australia. This was also to be Robbie Deans last test as coach of Australia. McCalman last appeared for Australia in 2011.
The crowd number was a record for a rugby test match at this ground.
