RECORDING AND UPDATING OF INTERNATIONAL TEST RUGBY RESULTS AND RECORDS.
AUGUST 2016
THERE ARE
SECTIONS OF THIS WEB SITE THAT ARE BEING REVISED AND UPDATED (EVENTUALLY)
Updated Sunday 28 August
LATEST NEWS
27.08.2016
In the Rugby Championship the All Blacks were not quite on their game but still
scored 4 tries to nil, winning 29-9. Australia has some serious game management
problems. Argentina scored a good 26-24 win over South Africa in Salta but
again allowed the Springbox back in the game after
they held a comfortable lead. I liked the way Argentina moved the ball
hand-to-hand very much like the All Blacks. I thought South Africa very one dimentional and not very good at that.
Ecuador,
playing at home, held onto their South American Championship ‘B’ position by
narrowly defeating the ‘C’ Championship team Guatemala. Ecuador stays in the
hunt for a 2019 Rugby World Cup finals place and will compete in the 2016 South
American ‘B’ tournament to be held in Peru in early October. The winner of that
tournament will play a World Cup qualifier against the winner of the Rugby
Americas North Championship final, to be played between Mexico and Guyana on 1
October.
Kenya was
too good for the visiting Hong Kong rugby side winning 34-10 in Nairobi. Hong
Kong sent a development side with a few experienced players. These
cross-continental games help to bring more credibility to World Rugby’s ranking
system.
Malawi
joined the ranks of test rugby nations playing and losing at home 11-31 to
Lesotho in Blantyre.
Next
weekend is a rest weekend for international test rugby.

COUNTRY DATA
This is a
new section of rugby test data on this site. This section hopes to cover each
nation’s international rugby stats year-by-year.
This is a
work in progress as I gradually upload the data for each nation. Click on the
nation below and see where I’m up to.
If you can contribute to this data either by noticing errors or by adding to
what I don’t have then contact me at rugint@bigpond.net.au
A special thanks to Stuart Farmer whose data on scrum.com for the main nations
is, in most cases, my comparison.
